So here’s the deal guys – it’s a good day today. You know why? Because it includes donuts – and as far as I’m concerned, any day that includes donuts is pretty much the best kind of day. Especially when they are moist, double chocolate donuts that have been sprinkled with an ingredient that pretty much just screams holiday cheer. And you all know how excited I feel about the holiday season.
When Williams-Sonoma approached me about creating a recipe using their delicious Original Peppermint Bark, my mind immediately went to one place; donuts. But not just any old donuts – Fudgy chocolate donuts that would be dipped in a creamy chocolate glaze & sprinkled with chunks of dark and white chocolate bark studded with crunchy peppermint goodness. Yup – we went there. #BARKYEAH baby!
If you were to ever ask me what my favourite donut is – I would tell you that it’s hands down an Apple Fritter. No if’s, and’s or but’s about it. I will never, EVER say no to an apple fritter. Doesn’t matter what the circumstance, if there is an apple fritter up for grabs, I am game. Like even if I just ate an entire turkey, with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, and was deep in a food coma… I would still have room for an apple fritter.
Happy almost Friday all of you lovely people!
It’s currently six AM and I’m wide awake beaming with happiness because last night Food52 re-grammed my Mocha Brownie Sandwich Cookies & I could not be more excited. I know it’s a silly thing to be so dang excited about but I honestly could not be more grateful and overjoyed.
So instead of just laying around doing nothing and waiting for the day to start I thought I would make use of this time and catch up on a recipe post that I have been meaning to share with you guys. You are all so patient with me when it comes to recipes and I really want you to know how much I appreciate that.
In case you can’t tell from all of the holiday plates and flavours in these pictures … I’m pretty much in full blown Christmas/Holiday mode already – even if it is still only November.
Happy Friday friends!
I think we can all agree it’s been a bit of a whirlwind of a week, what with the results of the American Presidential Election weighing heavy peoples shoulders.
I love matcha. I am always up for a good matcha latte, smoothie or ice cream; I just love the fresh, subtle green tea flavour it brings to the table. Of course my absolute favourite way to consume matcha is when it’s been added to a homemade baked goodie of some sort – particularly when said baked goodie includes chocolate in some shape or form, because chocolate & matcha are pretty much a match made in flavour heaven.
So when Aiya America Matcha reached out to me to partner up for a recipe post with their Cooking Grade Matcha – I couldn’t wait to bake up something chocolatey & delicious with their matcha!
Happy Friday lovelies!
My goodness it feels like it’s been a while since I sat down here and shared something new with you guys, so I am so happy to finally be doing this! We’re in for a bit of a rainy weekend here in Vancouver so I have some pretty big plans to finally share ta new recipe with your guys. After I’m through here, my kitchen will probably turn into something of a baking factory – as it often does on weekends when I have a bit of free time.
Fall is in full swing over here in Vancouver, so it’s safe to say I’m officially craving warm, comforting flavors & hearty snacks to get me through the chilly days. I always keep this Maple Pecan Granola stocked in our pantry at this time of year because one of Cole and I’s favourite things to snack on throughout the day is granola – and this granola is chock full of pecans, almonds, oats and maple goodness. So basically it’s downright irresistible to us.
Sometimes you just really need a good chocolate muffin. You know like a super moist, fudgey muffin, loaded with good quality milk and dark chocolate chunks. Are we on the same page here?
So here’s the thing these muffins are so chocolatey and delicious, that they could basically qualify as a dessert – however, because they are a “muffin” it is therefore perfectly acceptable for you to eat them for your breakfast. Ergo – you get to eat chocolate for breakfast and feel perfectly okay about it… (not that I think you ever need a legit reason to eat chocolate for breakfast).
