Generally I am not a person who claims to know a lot about life. In fact if you asked me for advice about any particular subject in life, I would probably tell you that I am not the best person to ask. I’m twenty-six years old and I feel like I am in a constant state of learning when it comes to the everyday ups and downs of life. I make mistakes, and my mind feels like it’s changing all the time; So for the most part I am careful about making statements about what “I know” to be true in life.
That being said, if there was one thing I think I can say that I know for sure in this life, it’s that no matter what the situation, a freshly baked muffin always makes me feel a whole lot better. Do you feel the same way? Or maybe in your case it’s not a muffin – maybe it’s a chocolate chip cookie or a buttery scone or a slice of banana bread or a bowl of pasta.
Whatever the dish may be, I truly believe that when good food is prepared with love from the heart, it has the power to make the world feel a whole lot better; Even when we are feeling our most vulnerable or defeated. Do you guys feel the same way?
How do you guys like your oatmeal muffins? Hot? Cold? Plain? Buttered?
Hands down, my favourite way to eat an oatmeal or bran muffin is warmed up, with a smear of creamy butter and a dollop of raspberry jam. I mean seriously, does it get any better than that?
Sometimes you just really need a good chocolate muffin. You know like a super moist, fudgey muffin, loaded with good quality milk and dark chocolate chunks. Are we on the same page here?
So here’s the thing these muffins are so chocolatey and delicious, that they could basically qualify as a dessert – however, because they are a “muffin” it is therefore perfectly acceptable for you to eat them for your breakfast. Ergo – you get to eat chocolate for breakfast and feel perfectly okay about it… (not that I think you ever need a legit reason to eat chocolate for breakfast).

I can’t tell you all how much I love having you request recipes when I post photos to instagram & I really want to do my best to post them quickly for you, but sometimes I really just don’t know where the time goes. But it was a rainy Vancouver day today, so we had a nice cozy day at home, giving Cole & I some much needed time to catch up on some things we have been putting off.

Uhmm yeah, you read that correctly – I said Peanut Butter. Banana. Chocolate Chunk. Muffins… Yeah baby.
Now I know what you’re thinking… “enough said” – am I right? I mean honestly, the title says it all. If I was reading this post title on another bloggers site, they would have had me at peanut butter – no further explanation needed.
Are we on the same page about peanut butter here? For me peanut butter has never needed any kind of justification. But I guess that’s just because I am a peanut butter addict. Seriously, if a group called peanut butter addicts anonymous existed, I would be a member.

I know, I know, it’s Monday morning so good might not be the exact word you would use to describe the morning, but the sun is shining in Vancouver and that is enough to make me smile – even if it is a Monday :p
So is anybody else as stoked as I am about daylight savings? We just switched out clocks ahead this weekend and the extra hour of daylight yesterday evening and the prospect of the days to come getting longer and longer is definitely enough to keep me exceptionally excited for a good long while! Yayyyy daylight savings!!! (I have said it before and I will say it again… it really is the simple things that make me happy :D)
Alright, so it is officially blueberry season and it seems like everywhere I go there are blueberries just begging for me to take them home and bake them into something delicious! The amount of fresh fruit in my house right now is bordering on insane but I just can help myself! All of the local berries have finally started to show up at my produce store and it is all just too scrumptious to pass up! I see a flat of deep blue blueberries and I think “Yes, I NEED these!” Hence the cornucopias amount of blueberries on my counter right now. My boyfriend was beginning to get a little bit worried about exactly what I was going to do with such a large amount pf blueberries, but he needn’t worry (silly man) – I had big plans for those blueberries!
