Sunday brunch… Now there’s two words that have to power to make me instantly feel warm and fuzzy.
Two simple words that manage to hold so much meaning, it’s hard not to smile from ear to ear just thinking about it.
What does Sunday brunch mean to you?
For me “Sunday Brunch” is of course a promise of delicious food; Dishes like waffles and maple syrup or warm toast with a thick smear of butter and jam or poached eggs with runny yolks…
“Sunday Brunch” is a promise of the aroma of hot coffee and the taste of freshly squeezed orange juice; It’s a promise of a lazy morning spent in the company of good friends and family; A morning spent with talking, and laughing, and reminiscing…
“Sunday Brunch” is a promise of genuine human connection that leaves us feeling pleasantly full, grateful and fulfilled for so many different reasons. And that’s a feeling I think we could all stand to have a little more of in our lives don’t you?
I think one of the most wonderful things about Sunday Brunch is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. My favourite way to plan a brunch menu is to pick a star for the brunch, and let all the dishes – sweet and savoury – revolve around it.
Boursin Apple & Maple was the star of this brunch. Because it pairs perfectly with dishes that are both sweet and savoury, I knew it would be a brunch staple that was sure to satisfy the cravings of all of my hungry guests.
Spread it; crumble it; Boursin was our everything.
We spread it onto our waffles, added fresh apple slices, a drizzle of maple syrup and a sprinkle of nuts for one of the best waffle combinations you ever did see.
We smeared a generous layer onto toasty bagels, and ate them just like that. Or we topped them with poached eggs and peppery arugula for an incredible breakfast sandwich option.
We sprinkled the Boursin on top of sautéed local asparagus and roasted potatoes…
We enjoyed it charcuterie style with deli meats, fresh fruits and candied nuts…
The possibilities are truly endless. Boursin helps you keep it simple so all you have to do it enjoy – which is exactly what we did.
Happy Brunching lovelies!
