Shortbread is one of those things that I could just keep eating.
Doesn’t matter if I’ve had 10 shortbread cookies, I can and will happily keep going. So like if you don’t want that plate of shortbread to be gone in under thirty minutes, then you’re going to have to forcibly remove me from its presence… because I will just keep going back for more… and more… and more…
You get it.
And I don’t discriminate when it comes to shortbread. I love all the flavours. There is a time and a place for every shortbread flavour. Give me a classic vanilla or load one up with all the fixins and I will devour them with equal enthusiasm.
What’s great about shortbread, is if you have a good recipe, you can just use that as a simple base to let your flavour and cookie shape imagination run wild.
The shortbreads here all came from the same recipe. They each just have a few simple add ins and were shaped differently. We’ve got Vanilla Buttons, Toasted Pecan Toffee Slices, Orange Cardamom Mittens and Dark Chocolate Mocha Trees. Talk about a simple way to do a festive holiday cookie spread.
