Hot chocolate reminds me of my childhood…
It reminds me of cold, afternoons in the kitchen, standing by my moms hip, and staring longingly up at the stove while she warmed a pot of hot chocolate for my brothers and I.
It was the ultimate treat on a rainy Vancouver day. So warm and comforting.
I don’t make hot chocolate nearly enough, and that is a regret of mine, because it truly is such a treat…
Every time I sit with a cup in hand, not only am I immediately overjoyed by the decadence of every sip of creamy chocolate, but perhaps even more so by the nostalgia that always ensues…
This year I am vowing to make more hot chocolate – and it’s going to start with a bang…
Gingerbread Hot Chocolate.
This hot chocolate is a wonderful blend of warm spices and both dark and milk chocolate. Once you have a sip, you will be hard pressed to be able to set it down.
Oh and these gingerbread houses? Well I cannot take credit for those beautiful works of art. No those were the work of my talented friend Jodi (aka Farmers Daughters Kitchen)
She is a cookie decorating wizard. Her talent and creativity astounds me. So I am always so excited when she asks me to collab on a photoshoot with her.
Such was the case with this Gingerbread Hot Chocolate. I warmed the hot chocolate and she brought the beautiful cookie houses. (I clearly had the easy job)
Happy hot chocolate making lovelies!
