My favourite way to gift during the holidays is always with a handmade touch.
Every holiday season I bake up a storm and prepare personalized holiday cookie boxes for all of my loved ones. I show up at their doorstep and invite myself in with the box so we can catch up while feasting on cookies.
But this year, the holidays are looking like they will be a little bit different. This year I may not be able to enjoy the cookie boxes with them, but that’s not going to stop me from leaving a little something sweet on their doorstep.
Although I may not be able to spend the quality time with all my friends and family like I am used to – I can still send them a gift that will let them know they are in my heart and thoughts.
This year, I wanted to make my holiday cookie boxes extra special. So this year I included a couple of my favourite things…
Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix, and the perfect accompaniment; Baileys Original Irish Cream – Because there is nothing like getting cozy with a plate of cookies and a mug of warm Baileys Original Irish Cream Hot Chocolate during the holidays. Who’s with me?
Here’s how to build the Ultimate Holiday Cookie Box…
Step 1: Prepare Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix. (recipe below) This is so much easier than you may think, and it makes for the most delicious hot chocolate mix you will ever try.
Step 2: Bake your favourite holiday cookies…
Now when it comes to cookies for a cookie box, I like to keep things classic. I fill my cookie boxes with a variety of flavours that hold a certain nostalgia, and that I know everyone will love. A few of my go to Cookie Box Recipes are…
Chocolate Pecan Caramel Thumbprint Cookies
Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Step 4: Add a bottle of Baileys Original Irish Cream to your cookie box
Step 3: Arrange your hot chocolate mix and cookies into a box of your choice.
Step 5: Deliver your ultimate cookie box to a loved one.
We may not be able to be with our loved ones in person this year, but we can always be with them in spirit, and a homemade holiday cookie box is the perfect way to do just that.
Happy Holidays friends!
