I love matcha. I am always up for a good matcha latte, smoothie or ice cream; I just love the fresh, subtle green tea flavour it brings to the table. Of course my absolute favourite way to consume matcha is when it’s been added to a homemade baked goodie of some sort – particularly when said baked goodie includes chocolate in some shape or form, because chocolate & matcha are pretty much a match made in flavour heaven.
So when Aiya America Matcha reached out to me to partner up for a recipe post with their Cooking Grade Matcha – I couldn’t wait to bake up something chocolatey & delicious with their matcha!
Happy Tuesday friendlies! I hope everyone’s week is off to a good start and that wherever you are in the world, it is as sunny and beautiful as it has been in Vancouver the last couple of days! I’m super excited to share this cookie recipe with you all today, so bear with me while I share a little story…
Alright so, acouple days ago I was perusing the bulk foods aisle at the grocery store – because this is pretty much my aisle of heaven, and where I spend a lot of my grocery shopping time– when I noticed something amazing… Macadamia nuts were on sale! Say whattt!?!?
Now I don’t know what the situation with macadamia nuts is in other parts of the world – but here in Vancouver, sales on macadamia nuts basically never happen; like it’s pretty much unheard of – so you can understand my excitement when I noticed they were on sale.
Happy Friday lovelies! I hope everyone had a good weak and that you’re geared up for an awesome weekend!
This post is the latest addition to my contribution to the Tastes of Lizzy T website! Confession; my favourite part about Easter is the Cadbury Mini Eggs…..Well okay, if I’m being really honest, my real favourite thin about Easter is the Easter egg hunts, and hunting for said Mini Eggs.
I was just a little embarrassed to admit that before, seeing as how I’m now considered an adult, and therefore probably shouldn’t love Easter egg hunts as much as I still do… but I really do. Besides I tell you guys everything now anyways so what’s a little extra Easter embarrassment, right?
Happy Saturday lovelies & thanks for popping by to check out this cookie post <3
I love cookies. Do you love cookies? Like realllly love cookies? Because I reallllly love cookies – like I am basically the cookie monster in human form. So if you are like me, then you have come to the right place my friend. Cookie lovers unite!
I mean honestly, who could look at this picture and not be immediately inflicted with a case of the drools? If there is anybody out there who is looking at this picture, and hasn’t started thinking about making a batch of cookies and then proceeding to eat the entire tray… you have the kind of willpower that I will never know.
Seriously, trying to get me to resist a fresh, homemade cookie that has been baked to perfection with a crisp exterior, chewy center, rich flavour and ooey gooey chocolate….. that’s like trying to get me to resist breathing – and let’s face it, that’s just not going to happen.
But baking the perfect batch of cookies is sometimes a bit of a challenge. Have you ever picked up one of your cookies and asked yourself why they just aren’t turning out as chewy as you would like? Or why they don’t taste as delicious as the cookies at your favourite bakery?
I myself have definitely been there, so over the years of my many cookie trials and tribulations, I have come up with a list of tips and tricks to help ensure that I get that perfect cookie I am craving every time for you lovelies to check out below and try out in your own kitchens. So here we go…
I’m not sure if there is anything better than receiving a cookie gram as a Christmas gift from a friend.
Oh and did I mention that this little gift is completely budget friendly? So even if you are like me and made a pact with your friends not to spend any money on each other for Christmas…. little packages of cookies like these are totally a-okay (says me) 😀
Cookies…. I mean honestly what can I say about them? They are classic, they are simple to make, they are ooey, gooey bites of deliciousness – Put simply, they are perfection in the palm of your hand.
Now although I can honestly say that I have never met a cookie I didn’t like, I do have to say that not all cookies are created equal. I will be the first to admit that I have had myself many homemade cookie recipe failures over the years of cookie trials in my quest to create the perfect recipe. You know the recipe I’m talking about right? That elusive homemade cookie recipe that we all search for? The recipe, that will never fail to create the perfect cookie every time?
Now everyone’s definition of the “perfect” cookie will vary based on opinion – but for me, the definition of the “perfect cookie” isas follows:
“The Perfect Cookie” One that is slightly crisp on the outside, while still being oh so gooey and chewy on the inside, with a lovely crinkly top, and lots of flavour.
So if the above description matches with your definition of what the “perfect cookie” should be, then my recipe for these Double Chocolate Coffee Addict Cookies is the one for you.
These cookies mean some serious business and I feel like the only way to convey just how amazing they are is to describe them as like the perfect love child of a brownie and a chocolate chip cookie… mhmmm.
These cookies have the most amazingly fudgy texture on the inside, with a light, crisp exterior. The addition of a hint of espresso powder to the mix, heightens the flavour of the chocolate to a whole new level, and the blend of milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate chunks just takes these cookies to a whole new level of delicious.
Happy Friday eve peeps!
Is that a thing – Friday eve? If not it really should be because hot damn – I get so excited on Thursday nights! Just knowing that there is just one more day until the weekend gets me positively giddy. Especially when you have one of those weeks where you are just hit with so many different things you think your head might be on the verge of exploding. Such was the case for me this week so forgive me if you find my excitement for Thursday evenings to be a little bit odd, because I’m feeling a little bit loopy after this week.
But not to worry lovelies because even when we have crazy weeks, we will always have the comforts of cookies to ease our troubled minds. There really is just something so special and comforting about a batch of warm, homemade cookies sitting on the kitchen counter isn’t there? The sight of homemade cookies just floods me with memories of my childhood, and coming home to the smell of freshly baked cookies on a chilly fall evening after school and having my mum greet us with a plate of chewy cookies and warm cups of hot chocolate.
Today was one of our famously wet and dreary days here in Vancouver – so after a very wet, long drive home, I was feeling like freshly baked cookies and a cup of piping hot chocolate would be just what the doctor ordered. So I wasted absolutely no time, dropping my wet clothes and hopping into the kitchen to whip up a batch of one of my favourite cookie recipes of all time – these Brown Sugar and Spice Cookies.
This is such a simple, simple recipe to whip up! It seriously takes no time at all before you have these beauties baking in the oven, and then it’s just a matter of waiting ten minutes for them to bake up into golden brown, chewy, crackly topped, cookie perfection.
These cookies will take you no more than 10 minutes to mix up, yet despite how easy they are to make – they are seriously delicious. This is my go-to recipe when I want to bake a batch of cookies that I am sure that everybody will love. They are so flavourful from the brown sugar, with a perfect hint of spice and they are super chewy on the inside while still having a crisp exterior. AKA – cookie perfection.
Not to mention their crackly tops make them totally irresistible so not only do they make for a delicious snack, but they are also the perfect cookie to package up and give to your friends as a little homemade gift this holiday season. This is definitely a recipe to have on hand for all of your holiday baking needs – so here it is lovelies!
Hey – Happy Friday peeps!
We made it through another crazy week – Boo ya! We are seriously deserving of some delicious cookies don’t you think? But not just any cookies… not just your run of the mill chocolate chip cookies – although I have nothing against chocolate chip cookies, because sometimes a mean, homemade chocolate chip cookie is exactly what a tummy needs. But today is one of those celebratory Fridays where just a regular cookie isn’t gonna cut it.
So let’s take this whole celebratory cookie idea to the next level shall we? What say you to taking an awesome chocolate chip cookie recipe, and throwing in a little fall inspiration, a touch of spice, a lotttt of good quality dark chocolate and perhaps some toffee pieces for good measure??? Mmhhmmmm…. I’m thinking yes to alllll of that goodness.
So as you know I have been running a little bit of a pumpkin puree recipe marathon on the blog lately – and I have to apologize if you are not a pumpkin fan because it seems I just can’t help myself. I’ll admit that I have gone a little pumpkin crazy over the last couple of weeks, but I swear I have good reason so hear me out…
